PROJECT CADORE – CIVETTA

PROJECT CADORE – CIVETTA

Since its foundation, Impianti Scoter S.r.l. has been strongly committed to the creation of a new ski area in the area called “Pras de Ize” , on the border between the municipalities of San Vito and Cortina.

Always under the impetus of President Lorenzo Cino Menegus, towards the end of the 1980’S, the first connection project between the Boite valley and the Newly born Civetta district was presented, crossing the “pras de Ize” area. The project was proposed on several occasions, but without ever obtaining the support of local institutions.

In 2010, for the first time, the municipal administration of San Vito, under the leadership of the mayor Andrea Fiori and the tourism councilor Ludovico De Lotto, decided to support this project by asking Scoter to update and expand the feasibility study of the new district. Between 2010 and 2011, a lot of public meetings were held in order to illustrate the project to the population and a summary brochure was created too.

In the spring of 2011, the Regole of Chiapuzza and Costa, Vallesella Resinego and Serdes and Regola Grande, owners of most of the land involved on the project, suddenly decided to block the project.
